Subject: TOURIST VISA ON ARRIVAL SCHEME

•     The Government of India has announced introduction of Tourist Visa on Arrival (TVoA) scheme for the nationals of Combodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos with effect from January 1, 2011.  TVoA scheme is already in place for the citizens of Finland, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand and Singapore with effect from January 1, 2010.
  

•      Single entry Tourist Visa valid for 30 days stay in India may be granted to the nationals of the above countries whose validity of passports is not less than six months by the Immigration authorities at the international airports at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata if the person is otherwise eligible for grant of the visa.
  

•     The scheme will not be applicable to the holders of Diplomatic/Official Passport holders.
  

•     The scheme will not be applicable to the holders of Diplomatic/Official Passport holders.

•      TVoA will be allowed for a maximum of two visits to India in a calendar year.
  

•      There should be a minimum gap of two months between consecutive visits on TVoA to India.
  

•       This facility shall not be available to the citizens of the above named countries if the person or either of his/her parents or grandparents (paternal or maternal)was born in and was permanently resident in Pakistan.
  

•    TVoA shall be non- extendable and non-convertible except on the following circumstances:.
  
  a) TVoA may be converted to X (Entry) visa in th event of the holder of the visa marrying an Indian national during the validity of his/her visa.
  
  b) The holder of TVoA falls sick after entry into India in which case TVA can be converted to Medical visa (M). The attendant accompanying the holder of TVoA is may also be granted Medical attendant Visa (MX) in such cases.
   

•       A fee of US$ 60/- (US dollar sixty only) or equivalent amount in Indian Rupess per passenger (including minor children) will be charged from person for grant of TVOA.
  

•      It may kindly be noted that TVoA is only a facility to the citizens of the above country who are unable to apply for a visa at the Indian Mission/Post due to some reason. Nationals of the above countries who apply for visa with the Indian Mission/Posts will be granted visa if he/she is otherwise eligible for such visa.
